Andreas Katsikoudis works in filmmaking, photography and poetry. He runs filmmaking and photography seminars. He publishes books and articles and organizes photography exhibitions and art events.
I have been into photography and filmmaking since 2000, participating in Club of Motorcycle, Photography and exploration (SYMOFE) workshops, a 2-years course Laboratory for Artistic Photography of the Zografou Municipaliy and a 1-year course in filmmaking organized by the Municipality of Athens. I also have graduated from the Educational Department of the University of Athens and have worked as a teacher in primary schools.
I have taken part in several short films, filling in for various roles: actor, camera operator, art director, film editor, assistant producer, etc. I had my first solo exhibition in 2003, which took place in EPASKT. Since then, I've taken part in many exhibitions and events: "Dia-rhoes" festival, Antiracist Festival of Athens 2001-2003 Athens Fringe Live, 2011, "People, Colours and Iron", 2010-14.
I teach the art of photography and filmmaking in various culture centers in Athens. Moreover, I have directed short movies that have participated in film festivals (ie, Drama Film Festival).
In addition, I write poetry and several of my poems have been included in poerty anthologies. Many of my articles, interviews and photos have been published in the media and on the Net (Eleftherotypia, Athinorama, Magazine "Photographer", Eleftheros Typos, Real Fm, ERA - Hellenic Radio, Athens Voice, Culture Now). I am a member of the Greek Directors Guild. With some of my students, I have co-founded the Diafragma 26 photography group and every year we organise an art festival in Athens.
